EMRISE RECEIVES INITIAL $1.4 MILLION ORDER FOR RF DEVICES TO BE USED IN U.S. MILITARY EQUIPMENT TO PREVENT REMOTE DETONATION OF ROADSIDE BOMBSProgram Expected to Equip Vehicle Types Not Previously Equipped with RCIED Jamming SystemsEATONTOWN, NJ – September 24, 2009 – EMRISE CORPORATION (NYSE Arca: ERI), a multi-national manufacturer of defense and aerospace electronic devices and communications equipment, today announced that it has received an initial $1.4 million order for radio frequency (RF) devices to be used in a major new program for vehicle-mounted, radio-controlled improvised explosive device (RCIED) jamming systems for the U.S. military. The Company’s RF devices for this new program are expected to be used in RCIED jamming systems for a large number of vehicles not included in other programs that use the Company’s RF devices. All of the products for this order are expected to ship in the near term future. RCIED jamming systems are designed to prevent the detonation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs). Often called roadside bombs, IEDs wound or kill substantial numbers of people in military conflicts and terrorist attacks around the world. The order was received by the Company’s Advanced Control Components, Inc. (ACC) subsidiary from a new customer involved in supplying RCIED jamming systems to the US military. ACC develops and supplies a wide variety of RF and microwave devices for a number of military and commercial applications, including RF devices used in RCIED jamming systems. EMRISE Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Carmine T. Oliva said that the Company’s sales under this new program could potentially exceed EMRISE’s sales from any previous RCIED program. “Over time this program could represent a major business opportunity for EMRISE,” said Oliva. “Our ACC subsidiary has been involved with the design of RCIED jamming systems since very early in their development cycle,” Oliva added. “I am confident that the initial order for this new program is largely due to our long-term involvement and close working relationship with the designers of these jamming systems and our track record for the production and delivery of very high quality RF products for critical military applications,” said Oliva. Oliva added that even though military priorities can change, the Company believes that RCIED jamming systems remain included in U.S. Department of Defense priority “force protection” programs. He also said that the Company is hopeful that it will receive additional orders for this new program.
